The Google Ads policy on third-party ad serving borders will change around early July 2011. We will change our policy to allow ads without a border to serve as long as the background and edges of the ad aren't a solid colour and are easily distinguishable from the publisher's content. The change will affect all countries. We made this decision in order to simplify our policies about non-text ad formats. After the new policy goes into effect, our requirements for third-party ad serving will be updated to reflect this change.
