Update to gambling and games policy (February 2022)

Google provides translated versions of our Help Centre as a convenience, though they are not meant to change the content of our policies. On 22 February 2022, the Google Ads gambling and games policy country-specifics will be updated for Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria and Uganda to permit the following:

  • In Kenya, we will additionally allow the advertisement of gambling-related products. 
  • In Mozambique, we will accept ads for online gambling, sports betting, lotteries, social casino games and by licensed Gambling Aggregators. 
  • In Nigeria, we will additionally also allow gambling-related products and Social Casino game ads.
  • In Uganda, we will accept ads for online gambling, sports betting and lotteries.

Advertisers must apply for certification. The gambling and games policy page will be updated when the policy comes into effect.
