Ad serving limit placed for "invalid traffic concerns", take action or wait? 1 Recommended Answer 9 Replies 2 Upvotes

Hello, I've got a quick question for everyone. I got an ad serving limit on my account placed for "invalid traffic concerns." I know I've done nothing wrong, almost all of my traffic is organic except for a couple of days where I did display ads on outbrain. Should I just wait for adsense to analyze my traffic and see it's legit or should I proactively stop third party campaigns that are generating referral traffic? I don't want to take any chances as I've been building up my publisher websites for over a year and they rely on adsense, but I also don't want to make a big change and then that look "sketchy" to adsense. Not sure what the usual outcome is for this type of "offense."

Thank you for the response! I've gone over the data many times, the incoming traffic from outbrain ads are all I can come up with but I still don't see why that would draw a flag since google should know it's paid, no? In any case, should take the ad snippets off the website during this period or do they need it there so they can monitor traffic?

It isn't a matter of whether people know they are ads or not when it comes to the ads you purchased to advertise your site via outbrain. Normally, people would know depending on how the ads are shown on other sites.

There are policies (other than above) that can affect your site, particularly if you have AdSense ads on landing pages. Much of what matters is what your ads say (the ones you placed via outbrain), where the landing page is on your site, and how Outbrain is advertising your site.

There really isn't any way for those of us in the forum to know anything about your traffic. The best you can do is ensure it meets all traffic acquisition guidelines and wait for AdSense to complete their review of your traffic.

Got it. So, update, "some" (very few) ads started showing up again a day or two ago. But it went from 8 days of $0 to $0.20 to $0.57 the next day. Obviously very low compared to what it would be if ads were not limited but is this a good sign or am I under an extended test of some kind? It's just odd because I really...I honestly don't know what could be the problem and am assuming it was a flagged erroneously (a concern because it impacts every site on my entire account).

I just got this not as well.  I have no invalid traffic and am new to AdSense.  I can't figure out what may have triggered their actions. Is there a way to request information or have them do a quick review?
