Powered by AI, consent optimization automatically shows your site visitors the consent message that's most likely to drive revenue based on past performance and session data such as a browser or location.
Consent optimization is enabled by default for your site. When enabled, you grant AdSense permission to optimize consent message settings for your site’s visitors. Under this setting, Google automatically displays one of two types of messages to your site visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland, depending on which message is most likely to drive revenue for you. These optimization settings are subject to future updates to best serve your site and users.
You can manage or disable optimization for each Google CMP European regulations message individually by finding the Optimize my consent message control in the setup section of your European regulations message. If you haven't created a message yet, create a European regulations message.
Consent message types
One of two types of messages will show to site visitors depending on which is optimized for you:
- A standard message which requires the user to make a consent decision before accessing your site content.
Or
- A limited message which is a non-blocking message that allows you to monetize with limited ads where a user is less likely to grant consent to personalized advertising.
