Troubleshoot and resolve common issues
Below is a list of the current AdSense known issues and their possible workarounds. Please know we are working to resolve these issues and appreciate your patience.
Some publishers received an incorrect PIN
Some of our publishers have reported that the Personal Identification Number (PIN) they received is incorrect. We've determined that this was caused by a printing error which has now been fixed.
If you've been affected by this issue, here's what to do next:
- If you're a U.S. publisher: request a new PIN
You'll be able to request a new PIN from Friday, October 14. (If you're unable to request a new PIN on Friday, please wait until seven days have passed since you last requested a PIN.)
- If you're a non-U.S. publisher: wait for a new PIN
You'll automatically be sent a new PIN, which will arrive in the next two weeks.
Note that we've also reset the number of attempts you have left to correctly enter your PIN.

We're aware that AdSense signup doesn't allow publishers to switch between multiple Google Accounts. When signing up for AdSense please sign out of all Google Accounts except the one you want to associate with AdSense. Otherwise, AdSense will select your default Google Account for sign up.
This also affects YouTube and Blogger publishers who want to associate their YouTube channel or Blogger account with AdSense. We recommend using the same Google Account for AdSense as you use with YouTube or Blogger.
To sign out of all of your Google Accounts except one, follow these steps:
- In a new browser tab, visit https://accounts.google.com/logout.
- Click Remove.
- Click X next to each Google Account you don't want to associate with AdSense. (Make sure you leave the one Google Account that you do want to associate with AdSense.)
- Click Done.
- Go back to the AdSense signup page.
- Click Create or use another account, and sign in to the Google Account you want associate with AdSense.
Our engineers are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Some publishers received a message regarding an account closure
Some of our publishers received a message from us today regarding an account closure. We’ve closed these accounts because they have been inactive for a while. Please note that active accounts have not been affected.
If you received this message and would like to open a new AdSense account, please reapply by logging into your Google Account and then visiting www.google.com/adsense. Note that you cannot re-open your old account.

Partners unable to action multiple ad units in the MCM tool
Some partners have reported that there's an issue when actioning multiple ad units in the Multiple Customer Management (MCM) tool. When a partner attempts to edit the management state of multiple ad units, the MCM tool reports that the bulk action was successful, even though the bulk action failed. Partners should review any bulk updates they recently attempted, as the management state of any affected ad units will not have changed.
Our engineers are currently investigating the issue and working to resolve it as quickly as possible. Until this issue is fixed, we recommend that partners only action individual ad units and avoid making bulk updates.

Some new publishers are briefly seeing ads after signup
Some new publishers have reported seeing ads on their blogs immediately after signing up for AdSense via a host partner site, but before their account has been fully reviewed. The ads stop showing after a few hours. Our engineers are currently investigating the issue and working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Some publishers unable to receive their test deposit
Recently, some of our publishers had problems receiving their test deposit. This issue has now been fixed. Unfortunately, if you were affected by this issue, you'll need to re-enter your bank account details to successfully receive your test deposit. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this issue.

For now, you can access AdSense by logging into another Google account, e.g., Gmail first, and then going to your AdSense account.

Invalid activity on the AdSense network
As of April 19th, some of you may have been impacted by a new segment of invalid traffic. Fortunately, Google’s traffic quality systems were able to react quickly to detect this traffic as invalid and treat it accordingly. The invalid traffic between April 19th and April 20th however, was not removed from your estimated earnings.
This invalid traffic will be removed from your finalized earnings by the end of the month. As a result, you may see a larger than normal difference between estimated earnings and finalized earnings for the month of April 2015.
This invalid traffic is not counted in your estimated earnings as of April 21, 2015, however you may continue to see it reflected in your weblogs as Google does not block the traffic.
We work hard to ensure that we maintain a healthy ecosystem for our publishers, users and advertisers. Advertisers have not been charged for this invalid traffic.

Policy violations incorrectly listed as "Previous non-compliance"
Details:Latest update: This issue has now been fixed.
As of November 17th, 2014, some users are seeing a subset or all of their policy violations listed incorrectly as "Previous non-compliance" in the "Policy violations" section of their AdSense accounts.
To check your policy notifications: Sign in to your AdSense account, click the gear icon and select Status. If you see an unresolved "Previous non-compliance" notification in your account, please check it against the policy violation email that you received to see if it's been incorrectly listed. Note that you can use the date and example URLs to match notifications to emails.
If you do have unresolved policy violations incorrectly listed as "Previous non-compliance", please do the following:
- Ignore the content of the incorrectly listed notification.
- Refer only to the policy violation email you received.
- Once you’ve fixed the issue, either mark the incorrectly listed notification as "Resolved", or follow the steps in your email notification to submit an appeal.

Payments on hold for some accounts; address change required.
As of November 18, 2014, some users are being shown a payments on hold notification on their accounts. Due to an issue with the AdSense system, these users have had their current payee address reset to Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheater Park, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States.
The issue has now been fixed, but these payment holds cannot be removed until the affected users contact the support team in writing with their new/correct address. Once the new address is verified, the payment hold will be removed from the account and payments will be issued as usual.

Custom ad styles: the color of the button in the preview doesn't match color of the button on my site
Note that when you create your own ad style, you can't directly edit the color of the button. Google will select the best performing color for the button, based on the color settings you've chosen for your ad unit. This means that sometimes the color of the button in the preview might not be exactly the same as the color of the button on your site.

“No valid forms of payment” alert on publisher accounts with EFT as the form of payment
Some publishers who use EFT were notified by an alert in their AdSense accounts that they had no valid form of payment, and their payments were put on hold. Note that this issue mainly affected U.S. publishers only.
The alert says:You have no valid forms of payment.
Your Bank account ...XXX was blocked because of the following reason that we received from your bank or credit institution: your account details are incorrect. To try again, remove the account from your payment options page. Then add your account as a new form of payment, this time with the correct information. If you entered in the correct information previously, contact your bank or credit institution to resolve the issue. Learn more.
We determined that your previous payments were issued to a “savings” type bank account, which is not allowed in certain countries. If you were affected by this issue, you’ll need to add a non-savings bank account to your EFT payment settings.
Because of how our payment system currently functions, you’ll need to add a new bank account before you can remove your old bank account information. If the hold was applied by mistake and your current account is not a “savings” type account, then you’ll need to follow these steps as a workaround to our current system constraints, which prevent re-adding the same banking information:
- In your Payment settings, re-add your bank account information with a typo in the account number.
- Set your new pending bank account with the typo as "Primary".
- Remove your original bank account.
- Now add your bank account information correctly, without a typo.
- Set that bank account as "Primary".
- Now remove the bank account entry with a typo.
In a few days, you'll receive a test deposit to your bank account, which you'll need to enter in your AdSense account. As soon as your banking details are re-verified, then the hold will be removed from your account. Any outstanding payment will be issued within a few days.

Google Publisher Toolbar disabled for some Chrome users
If your Google Publisher Toolbar disappeared from your Chrome browser after you were prompted to reset your Chrome settings, the extension may have been disabled.
To re-enable it: enter "chrome://extensions" in the address bar of your Chrome browser, locate the Google Publisher Toolbar in the list of extensions, then select the checkbox to re-enable it. If you can't find the Google Publisher Toolbar in the list, you'll need to re-install it from the Chrome Web Store.

Some rich media ads are showing up blank in the Ad review center for Firefox and Chrome users
Due to new security measures introduced in the latest versions of Firefox and Chrome, some rich media ads are showing as blank in the Ad review center for publishers using these browsers. While this doesn’t affect the allow and block functionality of the Ad review center, it does mean that currently:
- You can only see a screenshot of these ads in the “tiled” view.
- You can’t see a preview of these ads in the “one by one” view.
Specifically, this issue relates to the following versions of Firefox and Chrome:
- Firefox version 23.0 and higher
- Chrome version 30 and higher
Note that if you’re using an older version of either of these browsers, you won’t be affected by this issue.
We are currently investigating potential fixes for this issue.
