Review your Performance Max project

While you're working on your project, you can preview your changes as you make them. You can also share a preview of your project externally by creating a preview sheet.

Preview your project in progress

The preview on the project page displays example ads using assets that you've added, or placeholders if you haven't yet provided the right type of asset. Not every possible combination of assets will be shown.

  4. Copy the URL and send it to the reviewers.

Anyone with the URL can open a preview sheet. You don't need to sign in.

Preview sheet limitations

  • Example ads only: The preview sheet is meant to demonstrate possible asset combinations. The example ads displayed may differ from the actual ads that will be served as part of the campaign.
  • Destination URLs: Clicking the example ads on a preview sheet will lead to a placeholder URL. You can configure destination URLs in Google Ads after exporting the project.

Update the preview sheet

If you edit and save the project, the preview sheet updates with your changes. Reviewers might need to reload the preview sheet.

Refresh the preview sheet

Click Refresh while viewing a preview sheet to generate another set of example ads that may use a different mix of assets.

Click Remove all filters at the end of the filter bar.

Remove the preview sheet

Preview links expire after 14 days. To take down the preview sheet before then, go back to the Share preview sheet dialog and click Remove under the link.

Mark your project as complete

When you finish a project, click Prepare for export to mark it as complete. Projects that aren't marked as complete can't be exported. This prevents anyone you share the account with from accidentally exporting an incomplete project.

What's the difference between save and prepare for export?
  • Saving your project saves your changes and lets you share a preview sheet.
  • Preparing it for export changes the status from draft to completed and makes it exportable.

You must have at least one asset to mark your project as complete.

If you need to change a completed project, open the project and click Edit to make it an editable draft again.

Export your project

After your project has been reviewed and approved, you can export it to a linked Google Ads account.
