Troubleshoot video processing errors

If there's a problem while processing videos, you'll get an error. Find the error message below and click it to get troubleshooting steps. Follow the steps to solve your issue.

"Can't process this video until you save the project"

You have unsaved changes to your project that need to be saved before the video can be processed.

"Can't process this video right now"

There's an unknown problem and Ads Creative Studio can't process the video. Try again later.

"Can't process this video until you add the missing assets in the template and this variant"

Videos can't be processed until you've selected an asset for every element in your template and in the variant.
To add missing assets to the template, click Edit template. You'll be taken to the Template tab. Check for elements in the template that are empty or don't have an asset selected yet.
To add missing assets to the variant, click Edit variant. Check for elements in the "Swappable elements" panel that are empty or don't have an asset selected yet.
For example, if an image element doesn't have an asset yet, on the Variants tab, there's a message next to the element in the timeline: "No image yet". Click the element, then select an image.

"Can't process this video until you add the missing assets in the template"

Videos can't be processed until you've selected an asset for every element in your template.

There's a problem with some of the selected assets in both the template and the variant. Videos can't be processed until you've fixed all asset errors.
To fix asset errors in the template, click Edit template. You'll be taken to the Template tab where you can review assets with errors. Edit the asset outside Ads Creative Studio to fix the problem and upload the asset again or select another asset.

"Can't process this video until you fix invalid assets in the template"

"Some or all of the video renders failed to start"

There's an unknown problem and Ads Creative Studio can't process the video. Wait a few minutes and try again.

"Some or all of the thumbnail renders failed to start"

There's an unknown problem and Ads Creative Studio can't create video thumbnails. Wait a few minutes and try again.

"Your browser does not support this video player"

Ads Creative Studio works best in the newest and last prior version of these browsers:

"Changes were made to this variant. To watch the video, save this project."

You have unsaved changes to the variant that need to be saved before the video can be processed.

"You haven't filled out 1 or more elements in the template"

  1. Go to the Template tab.
  2. Click Edit template.
  3. Check for elements in the template that are empty or don't have an asset selected yet. Add content or assets for these elements.
  4. Click Save.

"In your template, 1 element is bigger than the video size. To make sure your element doesn't get cut off, change its size or dimensions to fit in the video"

An element's position or size is causing part of it to be outside the video player. The part that's outside the player won't be visible.
  1. Go to the Template tab.
  2. Click Edit template.
  3. Find the element that's getting cut off.
  4. Click Position & size.
  5. Edit the size or position of the element so that it is fully visible.
