- Info you’ve given that website or app, like your email address, age or gender
- You might visit a news site and see an ad for a cooking magazine because you’ve read an article about food on that website.
- You might download an app for used cars and see an ad for cars in the app.

You can opt out of ad personalisation on websites or apps that show ads managed by Google. When you opt out, you'll still see ads, but they won’t be personalised. The ads that you see will be based on general factors instead, like the time of day or the content of the website that you're visiting.
To opt out of personalised ads on some websites or apps:
- Within the ad, select the , , , or icon.
- Select Ad options.
- Turn off Personalise ads on this site.

- When you turn off or opt out of ads based on your interests on a site, that choice doesn’t affect other sites.
- Some browsers or devices may not permanently save your preferences. For more information, see the settings for your browser or device.
- If you don’t see the Ad options button, you can still opt out of seeing ads on this site that are based on your actions and interests. To opt out, visit that site’s privacy policy or settings.
