Ad Planner changes

As of September 5th, Ad Planner information is limited to placements within the Google Display Network (GDN). GDN Ad Planner no longer provides information on any sites, domains, or non-GDN placements. You can still search for sites and domains that are in the GDN, but GDN Ad Planner will only provide information on the associated placements.

See below for specific details on how the tabs, filters, and other information in GDN Ad Planner have changed.

Basic GDN Ad Planner changes

Changes to GDN Ad Planner:

Info that is no longer available
  • Domain info
  • Site info
  • Non-GDN placement info
  • Household Income
  • Education
  • Keywords Searched For
  • Videos Also Watched
  • Regional Page Views
  • Worldwide Top Subdomains
Some Google domains, such as mail.google.com, may appear in GDN Ad Planner as ad placements if they display ads.
Filters that are no longer available
  • YouTube Channels: Audience filters removed, Content filters still available.

  • Household Income: removed from Demographics filters.

  • Education: removed from Demographics filters.

  • Keywords Your Audience Searches for Online: removed from Online Activity filters.

  • Site Language: removed from Content filters.

  • Domain research: removed.

Changes to how we compute data
  • Age: computed using DoubleClick cookies, not third-party data.

  • Gender: computed using DoubleClick cookies, not third-party data.

  • Sites Also Visited: instead of sites also visited, GDN Ad Planner displays placements with ads that also received impressions.

  • Unique Visitors (users): replaced with Unique Visitors (cookies), which is computed using DoubleClick cookies, not third-party data. Instead of Unique Visitors (users), GDN Ad Planner shows Unique Visitors (cookies).

Changes to our Top 1000 sites page and Publisher Center:

Top 1000 sites

The Ad Planner 1000 list is still available, but we no longer update it. Because it is now the GDN Ad Planner 1000 list, we've removed non-GDN statistics. Statistics only appear for a site on the list if it is in the GDN.

Publisher Center

Because all placements listed in GDN Ad Planner are on sites within the GDN, we no longer host a Publisher Center for publishers to manage site descriptions.
