Understanding AdMob country restrictions

Google must comply with sanctions imposed by the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). As a result, AdMob isn't available to users in the following countries or territories:

  • Crimea
  • Cuba
  • Iran
  • North Korea
  • Syria

    Recently added regions

    If you're based in a location that's recently become subject to OFAC sanctions (for example, Crimea), your AdMob account will be suspended. We'll send you an email to let you know that your account is affected. Unfortunately, no grace periods or exceptions are possible.

    Account access within embargoed regions

    Even if your account isn't based in one of the embargoed countries or territories, you could still be affected by the embargo. That's because, when you’re physically present in an embargoed country or territory, you won't be able to sign in to AdMob. However, you can still access the AdMob Help Centre, policy guidelines and other AdMob web pages that don’t require sign-in.

    Refunds for existing accounts

    Due to US sanctions on embargoed locations, you won't be eligible to receive payment for any earnings currently accrued in your account. No exceptions are possible. If sanctions are lifted in the future, we may be able to issue payments at that time.

    Location targeting

    These regions aren't available in the location targeting tool to either target or exclude.

    Countries or territories subject to OFAC sanctions aren't targetable (and don't appear as targeting exclusions) in AdMob. For recently added embargoed locations, existing campaigns that previously targeted an embargoed location will stop running. To resume these campaigns, edit your campaign and change your location targeting to avoid targeting the embargoed country or territory.

    Account support and optimisation

    If you're located outside these regions but promote products or services based in one of the affected regions, you're not eligible to receive customised support or account optimisation.
