URL is blocked but ads still show up
0
Hello:

We are getting competitors' ads on our sites, most likely from AdExchange campaigns. Ive blocked the click-through URL in the Protections as well as the domain but they still show up.

Where else can I check and what else can I do to block them?

Thank you!
Lena

Hi Lean,

Hope you have not put any other limitation (like geo, device etc.)  to your protection rule, where you have blocked the URL. There are some other ways also:

1) One more check you can put by using your creative review section and block the particular ad or account form there only this will give you immediate relief.
2) You can also block the category of ads that you don't let them serve. Like news, sports etc. But can hamper the revenue if you block any border category.

Also, if you are using any other ad networks in your demand pipe and usually they push google demand as a reseller to your site which is very much possible, in that case, you have to ask them individually to block the particular URL which you don't want to let serve on your site.

Thanks,

Hi Bhupeshwar:

Thank you!

No we dont have nay other limitations, just URL, and some sensitive categories that are blocked.
Ive checked the creative section, or partially checked - our inventory is quite large, so I think I stopped on page 10 of viewing individual ads :)
Unfortunately Im not seeing the category to block. We are a news site and the ad that is showing up is from a competition news site. News is not one of the categories.

We do use AdSence, Ive checked there as well, blocked URL. But the ads are still showing up :(

Is there a way to ask Google to block it for our network?

Hi Lena,

Just make sure to block advertiser URL  as with "www" and without "www"

Eg:
maindomain.com

Thanks,

Hi Lena,

Hope your issue is solved. If the issue still persists then please try to search ads with text, URL, size or even image of the ad. Google gives various search methods to search ads that are serving on your platform. You can block it permanently from there. Below is the screenshot :

Is there any info we can get by doing right click on the ad and then search and filter by that in the ad review!

Thank you!
