Invite a child publisher

Publishers can request access to another publisher's inventory

Publishers can request access to another publisher's inventory. The publisher requesting access is known as the "parent publisher."

Parent publishers can send invites to one or more child publishers.

Note that the MCM child network approval process usually takes a few days, but in some cases it can take 2-4 weeks.

For details on the status of child publishers during the onboarding process, visit Check child publisher readiness.

Invite one child publisher

To send a single invitation for MCM Manage Account:

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Click Admin and then Multiple Customer Management.
  3. Click the Child publishers tab and then New child publisher.
  4. Select Manage Account as the proposed delegation type.

Allocate your revenue share

To use this feature, your administrator account must ensure the "Ad Exchange" user permission under "Access to Ad Manager tabs" is turned on for your account.

  1. Enter the proposed auto-payment percentage, using integers from 0 to 100, for your revenue share. The math for your child publisher calculates automatically.

    Example

If you want to keep 20% of the revenue, enter 20 in the "Proposed auto-payment" field. When you click to the next step, the percent allocated to the child publisher will update to 80.

Add the remaining details

  1. Enter the child publisher’s name.
The child publisher’s name must be unique, and not shared by other child publishers.
  2. Enter the email address of the child publisher you're inviting.
This email address must be unique, and not shared by other child publishers.
  3. Enter the "Network code" of the target child network. A network code is a unique number that identifies an Ad Manager network.
For the child network, this code is located under Admin and then Global settings and then Network settings.

Send the invitation

Ad Manager provides a preview of the email invitation that will be sent to the other network to request access. Your network name and ID are included.

  1. Click Send invitation.
Once accepted, payment preferences may take up to 24 hours to take effect.

Invite multiple child publishers

You can invite up to 1000 child publishers at once. To get started, we suggest inviting a smaller number and gradually increasing it until you’re familiar with the process.

To invite multiple child publishers, you use a CSV file. You can upload a single file for Manage Inventory and Manage Account children. For Manage Account entries, your file must contain the revenue share and network code. To avoid upload errors, be sure your file contains that data.

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Click Admin, and then MCM, and then Child publishers.
  3. Click Upload child publishers.
  4. (Optional) To review the required format, click Download sample CSV file.
  5. Choose an upload option:
    • Click Browse and select your CSV file.
    • Drop your CSV file into the box.
  6. After your file uploads, click Confirm.

If any error messages appear after your upload, correct the file and upload it again.

Follow up on an invitation

Until the child accepts the parent’s invite, the parent can’t view any detailed status information for the child.

An invitation is valid for 90 days. If the child doesn’t accept the invitation within 90 days, you can resend the invitation. If you need to change the proposal, withdraw the invitation so the child’s status becomes inactive, and send a new invitation.

Follow up on an invite

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.

  2. Click Admin, and then Multiple Customer Management.
  3. Click Child publishers, and then a child publisher’s name.
  4. Make a selection, such as withdrawing an agreement for a pending invitation.
  5. Click Save.

About invitation status and MCM readiness

A child publisher’s MCM readiness status affects how parents can follow up on an invitation. If an invitation is expired, declined by the child, or withdrawn by the parent, MCM readiness changes to “Inactive.”

If the child is “Not ready,” and the Invitation status is:

  • Pending: The invitation is waiting to be accepted by the child. If you no longer wish to work with this child, you can withdraw the invitation.

If the child is “Inactive” and the invitation is:

  • Withdrawn by parent: You can renegotiate and resend the invitation.
  • Declined by child: You can renegotiate and resend the invitation.
  • Expired:  You can renegotiate and resend the invitation.
