Benefits for publishers

Joining the Google publisher data co-op equips your network with advanced tools built to increase demand and reach. Publishers in the co-op can access additional Ad Manager features, such as:

  • Enhanced buyer demand: Unlock agency demand through new audience targeting capabilities.
  • Access new features: Gain access to new audience features, such as Audience extension lookalikes (coming soon), that will help expand the reach of your off-property campaigns by finding new users with the same behaviors as your existing first-party audience segments.

Opting out removes access to all Google publisher data co-op features.

About Google publisher data co-op data usage

The data co-op setting in Ad Manager controls whether your network’s data and data about your users can be used in the data co-op. The Google publisher data co-op is built with strict privacy standards to ensure your proprietary insights remain secure.

For opted-in publishers

Ad Manager may use network traffic and audience data in a highly aggregated and anonymized format to build machine learning models. These models predict broader user interests and behaviors to improve performance.

Ad Manager may use the data to build user profiles and models for purposes such as interest-based ads. Network and audience data (including historical data) may be used.

Your specific network identifiers, proprietary insights and unique users are never exposed to or shared with other publishers.

For opted-out publishers

If a publisher opts out, their data (including any historical data contributed during prior participation) will not be used to train future models, unless they opt in again. Any behavioral profiles previously built using that data will remain active up to and no longer than they are phased out by updated modeling.

Tip: Machine learning models require time to mature. We highly encourage keeping the data co-op enabled for at least 60–90 days. This timeline allows the models to properly calibrate to your traffic patterns, ensuring you see the full positive impact on your network’s monetization and performance.
