There are two ways to have a report generated for you:
- Enter a prompt that describes what you’d like the report to show.
- Select one of the predefined prompts, such as "Impressions, inventory type."
Ad Manager then generates several related reports, and you can run the one that meets your needs. As with Interactive reports you create yourself, you can make changes to the report.

Let AI help you generate a report
You can enter or select a prompt, and a report will be generated for you. Ad Manager can interpret dimensions, metrics, time periods, sorting, filtering, and time-based comparisons to get you started with a relevant report.
- Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
- Click Reporting, and then Interactive reports.
- Under "Help me generate a report," enter a prompt or click a suggested prompt.
- One or more reports are generated with relevant dimensions and metrics. On a generated report, click Run report.
- After your report runs, you may want to give it a name, change the layout, or view it later. All such actions are the same as for Interactive reports you create yourself. For more details, visit Create an interactive report.
Provide feedback
To help us improve the results, under the cards for the generated reports, you can click the thumbs-up or thumbs-down. Also, please provide feedback on how to best improve the capabilities of the AI report generation to meet your needs.
How can I create a good prompt for the report?
You can create a prompt by entering a few keywords, such as "impressions" and "line items." Or, you can be more descriptive, adding details about what you’re looking for. Here are a few examples:
Example | Type |
---|---|
"Analyze ad requests by programmatic channel" | Command |
"CTR, device category" | Keywords |
"Monthly ad unit report" | Date range |
"What is the total revenue by line item?" | Question |
"Did any order have a CTR greater than 10% last week?" | Metric filter (such as CTR) |
"Performance in the United States" | Dimension filter (such as country) |
"Compare total CPC revenue by demand channel from last month to the same month last year." | Comparison |
"Show impressions by ad unit, sorted by impressions and descending" | Sorting |
These are just a few examples. For a custom solution, you can create your own prompts, drawing from the various types as needed. And you can always make changes to the report after it runs, such as by adding other metrics and dimensions.
