Why does my profile edit page say “You can't change the photo for this account”?

When trying to edit my profile picture so it’s not a default blue circle with letter my profile edit page says “You can't change the photo for this account”.

Why?

Sounds like you are on a managed account?

G Suite?  (business, school, etc.)

Please ask the account admin people.

I am the manager of the account. That’s the thing. I am self employed and set the account up myself. I don’t have anyone managing it above me. I am the admin people.
That seems to be a known issue in G Suite.

Best you ask in the G Suite Community  https://support.google.com/a/community/

Although the word "Administrator" features there, all can post.

Scroll to the bottom of the page,  if the "Describe Your Issue" box doesn't help.

(Are you aware of 24/7/365 telephone support available to the domain administrator of qualified G Suite accounts, if needed? - see https://support.google.com/a/table/3247295?hl=en)

After you click on the support link, go to Admin Console, click Users, go to the User and click on circle. I too am the Admin and only user. I was able to change my photo. Very round about way I admit.

I have this same issue as well. I'm the admin, and only user, however I get an error message saying "you cannot change the profile photo for this account type". I've edited my photo the way Tish has described, however that photo does not show up everywhere. It's odd.
