Want to report a bug with Google Authenticator App on iPhone under iOS15

Hi there. I did contact the google store support and was asked to post this issue here instead.
If someone can tell me where it would be a better place to report iOS Google Authenticator App bugs to and get help, please kindly let me know. Thanks!

So here is what I sent to them:

I want to report a pretty big bug I have noticed in the Google Authenticator App for iPhone after updating to the latest iOS 15:

In fact, aftzer the update was successfully done, I noticed that my list unsorted. I first thought it was just losing the A-Z sorting I did by moving everything manually.

However having a more deep look, I found that instead, many entries in my list now are doubled. It even creates the exact same codes on the doubled entries.

I am afraid to remove the doubles as I don't know what caused it and whether removing one of the doubles would remove both altogether - I also have no second iPhone I could export my accounts to as a backup, hence I ask you to look into this and remove this iOS 15 triggered bug in a future update.

Also please let me know what I should do now, are you aware of the issue, could you reproduce it?

Should I wait for an update?

Thanks in advance!
All the best!

What are we going to do now?

I've raised this issue with Google and am awaiting a response.

And EVERYONE should be using "Send feedback" to report the issue to Google.

Google has responded that the original problem with the authenticator has been fixed, so there should be no more duplicate entries showing up.

Unfortunately, the deleted entries can not be recovered.  So any lost accounts will have to be recovered through that provider and then re-configured in the app.  Many sites (Google, Discord, etc) offer the option of backup codes which will make this easy to accomplish.

I would continue to use the "Send Feedback" option to express how bad this problem was for users.  Something like this really shouldn't have happened at all.

What an absolute piece of trash. Literally all my entries are gone after deleting the duplicates.

Experiencing the same problem. Deleted duplicated entries and now all my codes are gone after the last update!

Also  so many different passwords, what's with that?  I  still want to know who  took money from me,  they had to have access somehow,  I  want my money back from the person or persons who took it,  it's not theirs,  it's mine.   It  seems that I am expected to remember many different passwords.  I'm really very tired of this.  Also,  people picking and choosing what they want for my account.  This isn't Rocket science,  but it's been made to try to get people to believe the different people who are working with all these different types of things are allowed to run people's account and information.

There's really nothing more to say about the things that I spoke of . I  know people who order things,  buy things online,  the few I have asked haven't had a problem,  yet anyway. It'd be nice to be able to not have to worry about something like this,  I have enough.  I know for a fact that noracora took money from me,  that was months ago, I just chalked that up to "they'll have to answer to that one day ", probably already have. These monies that have been taken from my account have been recent .  Why is my information being given to different people and  or businesses? Even phone numbers.

Ditto.  I’ve spent the last week and a half getting accounts reset.  Absolute nightmare.  I expected better from Google.

For anyone with a phone running iOS 15, look at your passwords.  You can use your phone as a 2FA.  Or, if you use a password app, see if it has the option to function as a 2FA.  I know 1password can.

Stay safe 🙂
