Wi-Fi networks in airports, cafes, and other public places often have a sign-in page that’s displayed before you can connect. These are called captive Wi-Fi networks and sometimes offer the option to sign in using your Google Account.
If you can’t sign in to a captive network with your Google Account, it may be because the sign-in window to collect your account information is not supported by Google.
In this case, you’ll need to take different steps to sign in to the network using your Google Account.
- On your iPhone or iPad, tap Settings

- Next to the network you want to join, select Info.
- Turn off Auto-Join.
- Open a website in the Safari browser. For example, "https://captive.apple.com."

After the Wi-Fi sign-in page reopens in Safari, you can choose to sign in with your Google Account.
Wi-Fi.After sign in, you should be able to use the internet. Some captive networks may require payment to use them. Contact the network provider for more information.
Tip: You can also select the “Without internet” option when prompted, and then open a website in the Safari browser.
