Use your phone to sign in to Google apps & services in your car

You can safely access your Google Account and apps in your car.

You'll need:

• An Android phone.
• A Google Account.
  • Tip: If you use an account through your work, school, or other group, these steps won’t work. If you don’t have your own Google Account, learn how to create one.
• A car with Google apps and services built in. Learn which cars are compatible.

Important: For your safety, your car must be in park to sign in to your Google Account.

1. Start your car.
2. On your car screen, select a Google app, such as Google Maps  , Google Play Store  , or Google Assistant  .
   • To use Google Maps  , tap the circle with your account photo or your first initial in the top right corner  Sign in.
   • To use Google Play Store  , tap Sign in.
   • To use Google Assistant  , tap the circle with your account photo or your first initial in the top right corner  Sign in.
3. On the app sign in screen, tap Sign in with Android phone.
4. A QR code will appear on your car screen. To scan the QR code with your phone, open your phone's built-in camera app, and point the camera at the QR code. For older phones, use the QR code reader app.
5. Select the Google Account you want to use and confirm on the next screen.
