Manage your notifications

After March 7, 2019, notifications for Google web products will no longer be accessible from the navigation bar. If you'd like to receive similar notifications in the future, you can update the notification settings for your individual Google products.

Update notification settings

You can update your notifications for the following Google products:

  • Google Photos
  • Hangouts Chat
  • Google+

Google Photos

On your computer

  1. On your computer, open Google Photos.

  2. Click Menu Menu and then Settings Settings.
  3. Turn on Browser notifications.

In the Google Photos app

  1. On your mobile device, open the Google Photos app Photos.

  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Settings Settings and then Notifications.

  3. Select the notifications you'd like to receive. 

Hangouts Chat

On your computer

  1. On your computer, open Google Chat.
  2. Click Settings Settings and then Settings.
  3. Select the notifications you'd like to receive.

In the Hangout Chat app

  1. On your mobile device, open the Hangouts chat app Hangouts Chat.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Settings Settings and then Mobile notifications.
  3. Select the notifications you'd like to receive.

Google+

Note: Google+ notifications are available to all Google+ users and Google+ is available to consumer users until April 2 2019.

 On your computer

  1. On your computer, open Google+.
  2. Click Menu  and then Settings.
  3. Scroll down to "Notifications."
  4. Select the notifications you'd like to receive. 

In the Google+ app

  1. On your mobile device, open the Google+ app Google+.
  2. Go to Menu  and then Settings.
  3. Select the Google+ account whose notifications you want to update.
  4. Tap Notifications.
  5. Select the notifications you'd like to receive.
