Contact email

Important: Some Google products still use your Google Account email even if you add a contact email.

When there’s something important that you need to know about your Google Account or the products you use, like YouTube, Google notifies you at your contact email. By default, Google uses your Google Account email to contact you unless you add a contact email.

You can use any email for this. It should be the one you frequently check.

  1. On your Android device, open your device's Settings app.
  2. Tap Google and then Your name and then Manage your Google Account.
  3. At the top, tap Personal info.
  4. Under "Contact info," tap Email.
  5. Tap Contact email and then Add other email.
  6. Enter an email address you own.
  7. Tap Add.
