Make Google my homepage

You can quickly get to Google every time you open your browser by making Google your homepage.

How to change your homepage

If you don't see your browser listed, go to the "Help" section of your browser and look for information about changing your browser’s homepage.

Google Chrome
  1. In the top right corner of your computer's browser, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. In the "Appearance" section, check the box next to Show home button. When the box is checked, you'll see a web address below it.
  4. Click Change.
  5. Click Open this page and enter www.google.com in the text box.
  6. Click OK.

Note: You can't set a homepage for Google Chrome on a tablet or phone.

Internet Explorer 
  1. Click Tools in the menu bar on the top of your browser.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. In the "Home page" section, enter //www.google.com in the text box.
  5. Click OK.

After completing the steps above, restart your browser to see your new homepage.

Firefox
  1. Open your browser and visit www.google.com.
  2. Click the icon to the left of the web address.
  3. Drag the icon to the Home button in the upper right-hand side of the browser and release.
  4. Click Yes.
Safari
  1. In your browser, click the Safari menu > Preferences
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. In the Home page section, enter www.google.com in the text box and click enter.
Android browser
  1. Open your browser app. It may be called Internet or Browser.
  2. Touch the Menu button on your phone or in the top right corner of the browser.
  3. Touch Settings > General > Set home page.
  4. Type www.google.com.

Google is stuck as my homepage

Google will never change your homepage settings without your consent. Select your browser above to learn how to reset your homepage. When you follow the steps, replace Google with the site you want as your homepage.
