Update your home & work settings

You can use your Google Account home and work addresses to personalize your experience across Google products.

If you set a home and work address for your Google Account, you’ll get more relevant results and navigation directions more quickly. We use your addresses to personalize your experience across Google. For example, we can show search results near your home, get directions to work, and show more relevant ads. You can remove your addresses at any time on your Google Account.

Add or change your home or work address

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open your device’s Settings app .
2. Tap Google Manage your Google Account Personal info.
3. Under “Addresses,” tap Home or Work.
4. Enter your address.
5. Tap Save.

Tip: Only you can access home and work addresses. If you want to make an address public on your Google Account, you can add it as a profile address.

Remove your home or work address

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open your device’s Settings app .
2. Tap Google Manage your Google Account Personal info.
3. Under “Addresses,” tap Home or Work.
4. Tap Remove.

Pin directions to home or work

In the “Go” tab in Google Maps, you can find your pinned trips with their ETA and traffic information. Learn more about your favorite trips.

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
2. Search for your home or work address.
3. Tap Directions .
4. Select your mode of transportation.
5. Tap Home or Work.
6. At the bottom, tap Pin .

Pick an icon for home or work

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
2. Tap Saved .
3. Under “Your lists,” tap Labeled.
4. Next to “Home” or “Work,” tap More  Change icon.
5. Select an icon for your home or work.
6. Tap Save.
