Connect hearing aids to your device

Important: Some of these steps work only on Android 13 and up. Learn how to check your Android version.

Hearing aid compatibility

To use your hearing aid in "M," or acoustic coupling mode, make sure that your hearing aid is set to "M," and position the Pixel phone receiver near the hearing aid's built-in microphone or microphones. The hearing aid will receive audio from the Pixel phone through its built-in microphones.

To use your hearing aid in "T," or telecoil (inductive) coupling mode, make sure that your hearing aid is set to "T," and turn on Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) mode on your Pixel phone (see below). The hearing aid will receive only audio signal-based magnetic fields generated by the inductive coupling-capable Pixel phone.

You can pair hearing aids with your Android device in 2 ways:

Pair with “Connected devices”

  1. Open your device's Settings app .
  2. Tap Connected devices and then Pair new device.
  3. Choose your hearing aid from the list of available devices.
    • If you have more than one hearing aid: Wait for the first hearing aid to connect, then tap the other hearing aid in the list of available devices. After both are paired, the status will read "Active, left and right."
  4. To change the settings, next to the name of the hearing aid, tap Settings .
