To input text with your braille keyboard, first turn on the keyboard in your device settings, under Language & input. If you try to use the keyboard before completing this step, you'll receive a prompt to change your settings.
To edit a text field:
- If your device has routing keys, tap one of the routing keys on top of the field when it's visible on the braille display.
- If your device doesn't have routing keys, focus and activate the text field.
You can then use routing or arrow keys to move in the text field.
To switch between literary and computer braille, use the shortcut Space + g (Space + dots 1 2 4 5). When you switch, the change is reflected on the braille display and an earcon plays. (An ascending earcon means literary braille, and a descending earcon means computer braille.)
