Send email, chat with colleagues, and start or join video meetings right from Gmail. Get Gmail: Web (mail.google.com), Android, or iOS

Email, chat, and collaborate

Download the the Gmail app to:

 

			Open email
			Open direct chats
			Open spaces for teams
			Open video & audio meetings

Send and receive email

From the Gmail tab, you can:
 

			Change your status or email view
			Open an email
			Tap Compose to create an email

Chat with colleagues

From the Chat tab, you can:
 

			Change your status
			See someone’s status
			Tap New chat to chat with a person, space, or app
			Open a chat message

Note: If you use Gmail through work or school, you might not see apps if your administrator has turned them off for your organization.

Collaborate in a space

 

From the Spaces tab, you can:

 

				Open a space
				Tap New space to create or find a space
				Add people and more
				Search in a space
				Access chats, shared files, or tasks
				See and reply to chats
				Tap New thread to start a new topic

Start or join video meetings

From the Meet tab, you can:

 

			Change your status
			Create a meeting
			Join a meeting using a code or nickname
			Tap to join a scheduled meeting
