Add a background theme to your inbox

Personalize your Gmail inbox with a background theme. You can choose the dark theme to save your battery life. Note: If you use Google Workspace, you may not have access to themes that your administrator has disabled.

Add a background theme

Open Gmail. At the top right, click Settings . Go to Theme and select a theme. (Optional) To change themes, click View all and choose a theme. (Optional) To add a background image as a theme, click My photosthe image you wantSave.
