1. Send messages to an individual or a group.""

Where to search for people, message a person or a group, or hide a conversation   1 Search for people and spaces, or words and phrases in messages.
  2 To search for a person or group, next to Chat, click Add "". To chat with several people, select Start group conversation "".
  3 Select the person or group you want to chat with. Enter your message and click Send "".
  4 Next to the chat or group chat name, click More "" to:
  • Adjust notifications.
  • Leave a group chat with the option to return.
  • Block a person or space.
  • Hide or delete the conversation.

2. Create a space for your team.""

Use features for creating a space, such as browse, add people, and start a conversation    1

Next to Chat or Spaces, click Add ""and thenCreate space "". You can name the space, select people to add to it, and set restrictions for the space.

  2 At the top of the Chat window, click the space name to:
  • View members in the space.
  • Add people and bots.
  • Set notifications.
  • Leave a thread.
  3 Within the main window, click the message field to start a new conversation in a space.

3. Work with Chat.""

Find features to do tasks, such as search, start video meetings, and upload files    1 Click Settings "" to manage desktop and email notifications, manage blocked people and spaces, and more.
  2 Click Add "" next to a chat message to insert a file from Google Drive "", add a Google Calendar invite "", or (spaces or group conversations only) create a new file in Google Docs, Slides, or Sheets.
  3 Click in the chat message field to:
  • Insert emojis or GIFs.
  • Upload a file from your device.
  • Start a video meeting.
