During a video meeting, you can use Q&A in Meet to submit and upvote questions without disrupting the flow of the meeting or an important presentation. After a meeting, the moderator gets a detailed report of all the questions.
Turn on Q&A
If you’re the moderator, you need to turn on Q&A for participants to ask questions.
- Open Meet .
- From a video meeting, at the bottom, click Activities
Q&A.
- Next to Allow questions, click Turn on
.
If needed, you can transfer the meeting to another moderator.
Ask a question
Anyone in the meeting can see your questions until you delete them. The meeting moderator can hide your questions and see all your deleted questions. If you’re the moderator and you’re asking a question, participants can get a notification in the meeting.
- Open Meet and join a meeting.
- At the bottom, click Activities
Q&A.
- Click Ask a question.
- Enter your question
click Post.
Find, upvote, or delete a question
If you’re a participant, you can only delete your own questions. The meeting moderator can see all deleted questions, along with who posted them, in a report.
- Open Meet and join a meeting.
- At the bottom, click Activities
Q&A.
- (Optional) To sort questions by popularity or chronologically, next to Oldest first, click the Down arrow
select an option.
- (Optional) To view everyone’s questions, click All questions.
- (Optional) To view only your questions, click My questions.
- (Optional) To upvote a question, go to the question and click Upvote

- (Optional) To delete a question, go to the question and click Delete
.
View and manage questions
If you’re the moderator, you can prioritize questions as they come in and delete any questions.
- Open Meet.
- In a meeting, at the bottom, click Activities
Q&A.
- (Optional) To filter questions, next to All questions, click the Down arrow
select an option:
- All questions
- Unanswered
- Answered
- Hidden
Tip: Participants can only filter by all questions or questions they asked.
- (Optional) To mark a question answered, go to the question and click Answered

View a questions report
If you’re the moderator and turn on Q&A, you’ll get a report emailed to you after the meeting. The report includes any questions asked, hidden, or deleted along with the names of participants.
- Open the email with the report.
- Click the report attachment.
Transfer a meeting to another moderator
Anyone who schedules or starts a video meeting is the moderator. There can only be one moderator per meeting, but you can transfer the meeting to someone else if needed. Learn more
