Unable to access account from libraries 0 Recommended Answers 4 Replies 335 Upvotes

Google keeps locking me out of my account when I log in from a library. Further, they want me to use a phone number the company no longer has in order to verify my account when I try to log in from the library. I never even provided Google with a phone number to begin with. There isn't one listed in my admin console.

How do I get Google to stop with the "you logged in from a suspicious location. Verify who you are" crap? I do NOT have two factor authentication turned on. I do not want two factor authentication. I log in from all sorts of different places very often.

Thanks!

HI Dana Kinzer,
Is this about a @Gmail.com or a @domain.com GSuite account

This is a @domain.com GSuite account. It accidentally posted under my personal account. The @domain account is dana.kinzer@kinzerprojects.com.

if you can access the  Admin control admin.google.com

In some situations, an authorized user can’t verify their identity. For example, they might not have a phone signal and can’t get the verification code. Or, they can’t remember or find their employee ID. If this happens, as an administrator you can temporarily turn off the login challenge to allow them to sign in:
  1. Sign in to the Google Admin console
  2. Find the user account.
  3. Click the row for the user account to display the user information page.
  4. Click Security.
  5. Click Login challenge.
  6. Click Turn Off For 10 Minutes.
The login challenges will be off for 10 minutes to allow the user to sign in.
You can also change the user's password to grant access to a session that is locked because the user can’t verify their identity.

There is no security option next to the users name. Secondly, I wouldn't have been able to use those solutions at all because it wouldn't let me log in at the time. How do I turn this off completely? It's causing more problems than it's solving.

Thank you. :)
