How to set up auto forwarding?

When I set up the G Suite account, I tried to set up auto forwarding of certain emails to two different members.  I followed the instructions below:

Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.

In the "Forwarding" section, click Add a forwarding address.
Enter the email address you want to forward messages to.
Click Next Proceed OK.
A verification message will be sent to that address. Click the verification link in that message.
Go back to the settings page for the Gmail account you want to forward messages from, and refresh your browser.
Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
In the "Forwarding" section, select Forward a copy of incoming mail to.

I received the verification link for each member.  Neither member seems to be receiving forwarded messages.  Is there something else that we need to do?

Welcome  to G Suite Administrator Community 
 
when you set up a auto forward it will send any incoming mail to the other address  it does not auto forward any exsiting mail that is already in your inbox.

Thank you for your response. The unforwarded emails were received after the auto-forward setup; however, I noticed later that several people had filled out our Contact form incorrectly, so that those few messages were not filtered for auto forwarding.  It seems that the G Suite auto-forward is working perfectly well, and I have modified our Contact form to avoid future errors.
