Force email address in from line

I'm a little confused about when Google Groups includes the user's email address in the "From" line of the email. I see it in some groups, and in others it doesn't appear. This makes it extremely difficult to search for someone's contributions to a group in your inbox.

So what settings do I need to change to make sure that a sender's email address is included in the From line whenever they post to a group?

Hi there!

Our Product Engineering team has made a change to the handling of messages sent to groups from external domains. This is to prevent rejections of messages from senders whose domains have a 'reject' DMARC policy. The change involves re-writing the From address so that it no longer points to the original sender. In doing so, the received messages display the sender as ‘User Name’ via <gr...@domain.com>.

If the original sender appears, it might be related to the email address that the sender is using. The DMARC change was made due to the changes on Yahoo and AOL email addresses.

Hope this clarifies your doubts.

Greetings! :)

Levels

Member levels indicate a user's level of participation in a forum. The greater the participation, the higher the level. Everyone starts at level 1 and can rise to level 10. These activities can increase your level in a forum:

  • Post an answer.
  • Having your answer selected as the best answer.
  • Having your post rated as helpful.
  • Vote up a post.
  • Correctly mark a topic or post as abuse.

Having a post marked and removed as abuse will slow a user's advance in levels.
