Post replies > [To the author of the message only] not working as advertised!

I am trying to limit replies sent to "all-staff" emails. Every announcement that goes out brings a deluge of reply-alls from our less email-savvy line staff.

After some research, I find the below option, and set it to "To the author of the message only." However, this setting doesn't seem to change anything. Reply-alls still go to everyone in the group. Am I missing something here? Is there another setting to tweak to make this setting function properly?

Thanks.

Hi Ned,

That setting works when using the Groups platform, but if you reply via your Gmail inbox you won't be able to limit the responses in that way.

Best,
Carlos

Then why-oh-why is the setting in the "Email options" area? You can see how that is confusing from a user experience perspective, no?

Levels

Member levels indicate a user's level of participation in a forum. The greater the participation, the higher the level. Everyone starts at level 1 and can rise to level 10. These activities can increase your level in a forum:

  • Post an answer.
  • Having your answer selected as the best answer.
  • Having your post rated as helpful.
  • Vote up a post.
  • Correctly mark a topic or post as abuse.

Having a post marked and removed as abuse will slow a user's advance in levels.
