Ok Google error "Sorry I can't send emails from this account"

Google Pixel 2 XL
personal domain hosted on Google ex myac...@mydomain.com

I used to be able to say Ok Google,   Send text message to "name of person" and it would process it ask a few quesstions, and send it.

but in the last two days this has stopped working and I get the message "Sorry I can't send emails from this account"

I tried removing my account and using my wife's at myw...@mydomain.com also on my personal domain hosted by Google gsuite  it fails for her now too.  I tried it on her phone, a Samsung S8 and it fails there now too.

I try removing the acount and setting up my phone with straight gmail account I also run, myn...@gmail.com, and Ok Google works just fine.

What has happened recently to cause this behavior?  I use this feature all the time but suddenty it does not work with with my gsuite domain.

What gives?

I'm having the very same issue starting very recently.  I have the Pixel XL.

The issue appears to be with G Suite account.  When I change the assistant to a regular google account, it works.

Whether I try to send a text, or send an email, when using a G Suite account, I get the identical "Sorry I can't send emails from this account" error.

I hope this is a bug and not Google assistant regressing even further with G Suite accounts.  Very frustrating how handicapped Google Assistant already is with G Suite accounts.

Thank you.

what else is crippled or not available to people who use it with a gsuite account?  I did not know that there were other issues. And this one issue, of not being able to send emails or sms via Ok Google has only been happening for a couple of days

Off hand without checking I don't think calendar works with gsuite accounts yet.  There are several features that regular google accounts have that GApps don't... usually because of "security" concerns being that GSuite is now very corporate focused.  Anyhoo I can't fathom not being able to send a text or email, and since both give the exact same error message *fingers crossed* it's a bug that will get resolved soon.

So for me two things are important.  One, I would like confirmation that this is very recent as in the last couple of days and it is happening to others with gsuite accounts

And two, does anyone think it is worth switching from the gsuite to regular gmail?

Hi all,

Welcome to the Google Search and Assistant Help Forum.

As you're using a G-Suite account, to help you get further assistance, let me move this thread to the G suite Help Forum.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Lucas

Actually, I don't think this is a gsuite issue, except peripherally.  It is a Google Assistant problem that has something to do with not being able to deal well with gsuite accounts.

If you move it there they are just going to say that it is a Google Assistant problem and pass the buck so if you don't mind I would rather you move it back.  The thread, I feel, was where it belonged until you moved it
