Common UNIX Printing System (CUPS) is an open source printing system developed for UNIX-like operating systems such as Linux, macOS, and Berkeley Software Distribution (BSD).
CUPS uses the Internet Printing Protocol to support printing to local and network printers. A computer running CUPS accepts print jobs from other computers, processes them, and sends them to the appropriate printer.
