Troubleshoot Voice for G Suite

Let's make sure you're in the right place. This information is for administrators who manage Google Accounts for a company, school, or other group. If you don't have access to an admin account, get help from someone else who does. Who is my administrator?

As a G Suite administrator, use this information to fix problems with Google Voice in your organization. If users can't sign up, they may get one of the messages below.

"Your account isn't ready for Google Voice yet"

Before the user can get a Google Voice number, you need to complete these steps in the Google Admin console:

  1. Add Google Voice to G Suite
  2. Add your locations
  3. Turn on Google Voice
  4. Assign a Voice license
  5. Assign a Voice number (in supported country/region)
  6. Meet these requirements

Note: The unmanaged version of Google Voice with a G Suite account is no longer available for new numbers. You can now assign numbers to licensed users as part of the Google Voice for G Suite service. This change doesn't affect accounts that previously added Google Voice numbers. Learn more

"You can't get a Google Voice number"

Users outside your home country/region can sign up for Google Voice only if your organization has a Voice Premier subscription. To let users complete the self sign-up process, add a Premier subscription.

"Google Voice isn't available in <country> yet"

The user is in a country/region where Google Voice is not supported yet. Voice is available in these locations:

  • Denmark
  • France
  • Ireland
  • Netherlands
  • Portugal
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • U.K.
  • U.S.

Voice will soon be available in Canada.
