Namesilo: Verify your domain

Important! Use this article to set up a new domain with Google Workspace. If you've been using Google Workspace with your domain for more than 3 days, your domain is already verified.

Why verify?

We don't want someone else to use your domain to sign up for Google Workspace. You can help us keep your domain safe by showing us that you are the owner.

Step 1: Get your verification code from Google Workspace
  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. Click Continue to verify your domain with a TXT record.

  3. Look for your verification code in the setup tool and click Copy.

Shows the Copy button next to the TXT verification record.

Step 2: Sign in to your domain host
  1. In the Admin Console, on the Verify your domain and set up email page, click the link to open your domain host sign-in page in a new tab.

Note: If the Admin Console doesn’t provide a link to your domain, open the Namesilo™ site in a new tab. Keep the Admin Console open in the first tab.

  2. Enter the username or domain and password that you created when you opened your Namesilo account.
  3. Click Submit.

If you don’t know your account information, you can reset your password or contact Namesilo support.

Step 3: Add the verification record to your domain's DNS records
  1. On the right, under Account Options, click Domain Manager.

Domain manager is selected under Account Options.

  2. Next to the domain that you want to verify for a Google service, click the Manage DNS icon.

The Manage DNS for this domain icon is selected.

  3. Open the instructions (below) for the type of verification record you want to add to your domain’s DNS records. Add a TXT verification record (most common)
    1. Under Add/Edit a Resource Record, click TXT/SPF.
    2. In the Hostname field, enter @.
    3. In the Text field, paste the entire verification record that you copied in step 1.

All fields of the TXT record are completed.

    4. In the TTL field, leave the default value.
    5. Click Submit.

The TXT verification record is shown in the Existing Resource Records table.

    Add a CNAME verification record
    1. Under Add/Edit a Resource Record, click CNAME.
    2. In the Hostname field, enter the contents of the Setup Wizard’s Label / Host field from step 1.
    3. In the Target Hostname field, enter the contents of the Setup Wizard’s Destination / Target field from step 1.

All CNAME record fields are completed.

    4. In the TTL field, leave the default value.
    5. Click Submit.

The CNAME verification record is shown in the Existing Resource Records table.

Step 4: Tell Google Workspace to check your verification code
  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. Click Continue.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the next page and click Verify my domain.

Important! It might take additional time for your registrar to publish the verification code. If the Google Workspace setup tool gives you an error message, wait an hour before you try again.

In extreme cases, it can take up to 48 hours for your registrar to publish your verification code.
