Upgrade from Essentials edition

If your Essentials users need access to other Google Workspace features, such as Gmail, you can upgrade your Essentials subscription to Enterprise Plus or Enterprise Standard edition.

Currently, you can’t downgrade to Essentials. Also, you can’t have Essentials and another edition of Google Workspace at the same time.

Before you begin

  • If you’re an email-verified customer, before you upgrade, you need to verify your domain.
  • If you want to transition to a Google Workspace Business edition, first upgrade to Enterprise Standard. Then downgrade to the subscription you want.
  • If you switch editions during your free trial, any unused days apply to your new subscription. For example, if on the 10th day of your free trial you switch editions, the last 20 days of the free trial apply to the new subscription.
