To archive a user, you need an Archived User (AU) license available. You can see how many AU licenses you have available for your organization or for an individual user. You can also buy additional licenses, if needed.
Check your organization’s AU licenses
If you have an Annual Plan subscription, you can see the number of licenses and the number of licenses assigned to users. If you have a Flexible Plan subscription, you only see the number of licensed users.
From the Admin console Home page, at the top left, click Menu BillingSubscriptions.
- Under Subscriptions, look for the Google Workspace [edition] - Archived User entry.
Check a user’s AU licenses
To see the available and assigned licenses for a user, including any AU license:
- From the Admin console Home page, go to Users.
- Click the name of the userLicenses.
