To avoid having your email forged by spammers, you need to authenticate your domain’s outgoing mail. Unauthenticated mail can cause delivery issues, such as emails you send being marked as spam or even bouncing back to you. The steps below help you create an SPF Record to authorize Google’s mail servers to send mail on behalf of your domain.
Step 1: Sign in to your account at your domain host
Don’t know who your host is? Learn how to identify your domain host.
Step 2: Set up your SPF Record
- At your domain host, select the domain you are using with Google Workspace and access its DNS records
- Add a TXT Record entry that contains the information below. If you already have an SPF record, make sure and edit it to contain the correct value.
- Host: type @
- Value: type v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all
- TTL (Time To Live): 1 hour
- Save your changes
It can take up to 48 hours for your new record to start working. For more detailed instructions or support with your TXT records, contact your domain host.
