Google Chat is available in the following G Suite editions:
- G Suite Basic
- G Suite Business
- G Suite Enterprise
- G Suite for Education
- G Suite Enterprise for Education
Device requirements for users
Each user device must also meet the following requirements:
- Computer with web browser: Google Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.
- Android and Apple® iOS® device requirements are specified by the mobile apps in Google Play and the Apple App Store.
Google+ profiles in Google Chat
Depending on the Chat settings in the Admin console, a user name might not display in autocomplete in some situations, such as:
- Starting direct messaging (DM)
- Adding someone to a room
- Direct messages
- Group DMs
The table below shows various scenarios that may apply:

Note: If a user has existing chat conversations, the user name may still be visible rather than the expected "Anonymous User".
