If you have multiple Workspace or G Suite subscriptions, contact Google Sales to perform a transfer.
You can transfer management of a paid Google Workspace, Cloud Identity, or add-on subscription from Google to a reseller, a reseller to Google, or one reseller to another.
A reseller can manage subscriptions and billing for your organization and provide services, such as submitting support cases and adding users, groups, and organizational units.

How transfers work
- Super administrators in your organization get an email with details about the transfer.
- Transfers are nonreversible.
- If you transfer a Workspace subscription, the associated Cloud Billing account does not automatically transfer.
- Transfers don’t affect your data or availability. You can use Google services as usual during a transfer.
- If you transfer a subscription to Google or another reseller, you can’t transfer any subscription to the original reseller for 18 months.
- You can transfer all or part of your subscriptions, including Google Workspace, Cloud Identity, and add-on subscriptions, such as Google Workspace Additional Storage. For subscriptions that belong to the same product group, you must transfer all of them together.
- If you have a G Suite Business or G Suite Basic subscription, your subscription will be upgraded to a Workspace subscription at the time of transfer. If you’re transferring to a reseller, contact the reseller for options and pricing. If you’re transferring to Google, you'll be asked to set up billing for a Workspace subscription.
- You can't transfer a subscription to a reseller more than 2 times in a calendar year.
Before you transfer to a reseller
Review this information if you’re transferring a subscription from Google to a reseller or from one reseller to another. To find an authorized reseller in your area, search for a Google Cloud partner.

Review transfer limitationsYou can’t transfer your subscriptions to resellers more than 2 times in a calendar year.
If you transfer a subscription from one reseller to another, the new reseller gets purchase consent for the subscription’s product group and the original reseller’s consent is revoked. For more information, go to Understand purchase consent & product groups.
Transfers from Google
Up to the transfer date, Google bills you directly for your subscription with any remaining contract charges included on a prorated basis. You do not receive a refund for any annual prepaid payment. From the transfer date on, the reseller bills you, not Google.
If your transfer date is not the first of the month, you get 2 bills that month, one from Google and one from the reseller. After that, you get one bill from the reseller.
The billing impacts of the transfer depend on your previous billing plan. For more information, contact your reseller.
Transfers from another reseller
If you prepaid any account charges to your current reseller and want to transfer your account to a different reseller, your refund option depends on your billing plan with your current reseller:
- If you’re on the Annual/Fixed-Term Plan with a yearly payment, you already paid for the year in full and no refund is possible. Also, no portion of the payment transfers to the new subscription. You can wait until the subscription renewal date to change resellers.
- If you’re on a different plan and prepaid your reseller, a refund is possible at the reseller’s discretion.
When you transfer subscriptions, the new reseller can access your Google Admin console, unless you remove access. For details, go to Reseller access to your Admin console.
Your reseller has billing and licensing options when setting up a new reseller-managed subscription. Contact your reseller to discuss the options.
Options with billing plans & free trials
- Subscriptions currently on a Flexible Plan—The reseller can choose a Flexible Plan or Annual/Fixed-Term Plan (monthly or yearly payments). The Annual/Fixed-Term Plan option is not available for add-on services, such as Google Vault.
- Subscriptions currently on an Annual/Fixed-Term Plan—The reseller can choose a new Annual/Fixed-Term Plan (monthly or yearly payments). If it's within 30 days of the subscription's renewal date, the reseller can also choose a Flexible Plan.
- Subscriptions in a 30-day free trial—If you complete the trial, you can only transfer to a new, reseller-managed subscription. If you’re still in your trial and you transfer to a reseller, the reseller can transfer the subscription to a new subscription or another 30-day trial.
Options for user license requirements
A new subscription must have the same number of licenses (or more) as the previous commitment. For example, if your current commitment is 200 user licenses, the reseller can’t reduce the commitment to 150 user licenses.
Exception: For subscriptions on an Annual Plan and within 30 days of the end of your term, the reseller can reduce the number of licenses.
