You can rename calendar resources in the Google Admin console or using the Directory API.
To rename calendar resources, you need to have an administrator role with privileges for managing buildings and resources assigned to your account.
-
Sign in with an administrator account to the Google Admin console.
If you aren’t using an administrator account, you can’t access the Admin console.
-
Go to Menu
Directory > Buildings and resources > Overview.
Requires having the Buildings and resources administrator privilege.
- Open Resource management
click the resource to rename
Details.
- Enter the new resource name.
- Click Save.
The update is usually immediate, but might take up to 7 days to change everywhere. Events created before you renamed the resource show the old name. Events created afterward show the new name. Canceled events do not take a new name, even if they’re scheduled in the future.
Relabel a resource in the My Calendars list
Calendar resources appear as calendars in your My Calendars list. You can rename those resource calendars in Calendar from your My Calendars list. However, doing so only affects the name you see, not the name that other users see for that resource. These changes are local and appear only in your calendar view.
To revert from a new (local) name back to the old one, unsubscribe and resubscribe to the resource calendar.
