Use enhanced pre-delivery message scanning

When Gmail identifies that an email may be phishing, it might show you a warning or move the email to Spam. Enhanced pre-delivery message scanning improves how to identify suspicious content.

When Gmail detects suspicious content, it introduces a short delivery delay to perform additional checks. Gmail does this through a setting that can be turned on for your domain.

Find the enhanced pre-delivery message scanning setting

To find this setting:

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Appsand thenG Suiteand thenGmailand thenAdvanced settings.

Tip: To see Advanced settings, scroll to the bottom of the Gmail page.

  3. Select your top-level organization.
  4. Scroll to the Enhanced pre-delivery message scanning setting.
  5. Check the box to apply the setting to your domain, or uncheck the box to turn the setting off.
