Retract an email you just sent

Notice a typo in your email? Forget to add a recipient? Change your mind about sending a message? If you turn on Undo Send, you can retract an email you just sent using the Undo Send feature.

To turn on Undo Send:

  1. On your computer, open Gmail.
  2. In the top right, click Settings Settings and then Settings.
  3. In the Undo Send section, next to Send cancellation period, set the amount of time you want to decide if you want to unsend an email.
  4. At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes. After you send a message, you'll see the option to Undo or View the message.
