Reduce Annual Plan user licenses during free trial

If you set up billing for G Suite during your free trial period and choose the Annual Plan, you can use G Suite with up to 10 user licenses for free, during the trial. Once your trial expires, however, you must pay for your current number of licenses for the full year of your contract. If you initially request more licenses than you need for your contract, and your free trial hasn't yet expired, here's how you can reduce your number of licenses.

You must perform these steps before your trial ends. Once you start your paid subscription on the Annual Plan, you can't remove licenses until it's time to renew your annual contract.

To reduce your number of licenses before your trial ends:

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console dashboard, go to Billing.
  3. To the left of your G Suite subscription, click the Down arrow Down Arrow .
  4. Next to Payment plan, click Change.
  5. Select Flexible Plan and click Continue and review.
  6. Review the terms and click Accept and continue.
  7. All unassigned licenses are removed when you switch to the Flexible Plan. To remove additional users, go to the Users page to delete them.
  8. Once you have the number of users you want for after the trial, return to the Billing page.
  9. To the left of your G Suite subscription, click the Down arrow Down Arrow .
  10. Next to Payment plan, click Change.
  11. Select Annual Plan and click Continue and review.
  12. Review the terms and click Accept and continue.
