Launch Contacts preview for your users

As a G Suite administrator, you can control when your users can start using the new Contact Manager (also known as Contacts preview). Just turn on Contacts preview in your Admin console. When users open their Contacts, they'll see the new Contacts preview. They can also switch back to the old Contact Manager.

Turn on Contacts preview in the Admin console

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console dashboard, go to Appsand thenG Suiteand thenDirectory.
  3. Click Sharing settings.
  4. Next to Contacts Preview, check the box to enable Contacts preview for all users. 
  5. Save your change.

Users can switch back and forth

The next time users in your account open their Contact Manager, they see the new Contacts preview. If they want, they can easily go back to the old Contact Manager, then return to Contacts preview.

To switch between Contacts preview and the old Contacts:

  1. Open the Contact Manager.
  2. At the left, click More > Go to the old version (or Try Contacts preview).

Not available in Contacts preview

There are a few things you can't yet do in Contacts preview. To perform these tasks, switch to the older version of Contacts:
