One.com: Verify your domain

Important! Use this article to set up a new domain with Google Workspace. If you've been using Google Workspace with your domain for more than 3 days, your domain is already verified.

Why verify?

We don't want someone else to use your domain to sign up for Google Workspace. You can help us keep your domain safe by showing us that you are the owner.

Step 1: Get your verification code from Google Workspace
  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. Click Continue to verify your domain with a TXT record.

  3. Look for your verification code in the setup tool and click Copy.

Shows the Copy button next to the TXT verification record.

Step 2: Sign in to your domain host
  1. In the Admin Console, on the Verify your domain and set up email page, click the link to open your domain host sign-in page in a new tab.

Note: If the Admin Console doesn’t provide a link to your domain, open the One.com® site in a new tab. Keep the Admin Console open in the first tab.

  2. Enter the email address and password you created when you purchased your domain from One.com.
  3. Click Log in.

If you don’t know your account information, you can reset your password or contact One.com support.

Step 3: Add the verification record to your domain's DNS records
  1. On the Website, domain & email page, scroll down and click DNS.

    DNS icon is shown.

  2. Click Web DNS.
  3. Open the instructions for the type of verification record you want to add to your domain’s DNS records. Add a TXT verification record (most common)
    1. Under Personal web DNS settings, from the Type list, select TXT.
    2. Leave the Domain/Hostname field empty.
    3. In the TTL field, enter 600.
    4. In the Priority field, enter 1.
    5. In the Value/Destination field, enter the entire verification record provided by the Setup Wizard in Step 1.

Note: Enter the TXT record values by hand. Copy and paste renders the values invalid.

The TXT record fields are completed

    6. Click Add ""  to save the record.
    Add a CNAME verification record
    1. Under Personal web DNS settings,in the Domain/Hostname field, enter the contents of the Setup Wizard’s Label / Host field from Step 1.
    2. From the Type list, select CNAME.
    3. In the Value/Destination field, enter the contents of the Setup Wizard’s Destination / Target field from Step 1.

Important: Enter the CNAME record values by hand. If you paste the values, they won't be valid.

All fields of the CNAME record entry are complete.

    4. Click Add ""  to save the record.
Step 4: Tell Google Workspace to check your verification code
  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. Click Continue.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the next page and click Verify my domain.

Important! It might take additional time for your registrar to publish the verification code. If the Google Workspace setup tool gives you an error message, wait an hour before you try again.

In extreme cases, it can take up to 48 hours for your registrar to publish your verification code.
