Set a time zone for new users
You can set the time zone for new users who first sign in to their managed Google accounts. Otherwise, the Admin console sets a time zone based on the user's location when they first sign in. People can keep using this default time zone, or they can go to their own account settings and choose another time zone.
Change the default time zone
Warning: If you set a default time zone as described here, you can't go back to having the Admin console set a time zone based on the user's location. All you can do is choose another default time zone.
- From the Admin console dashboard, go to Company profileProfile.
- (Optional) Next to Time Zone, in the first drop-down menu, select a default region for your users to choose from. Alternatively, you can leave this as Show all time zones.
Users can still choose any time zone. But choosing a default region makes it easier for them to find the time zone they're most likely to use.
- From the second drop-down menu, select a default time zone.
Applies only for newly created users
The default time zone applies only for new user accounts. Changing it doesn't change the time zone for the Admin console or for existing users.
Doesn't apply for Drive and Docs editors (G Suite only)
Google Drive and Docs editors use the time zone set for your web browser or computer.
In Google Sheets, you can choose a time zone for a specific spreadsheet.
Change a notification’s time zone
To change a notification's timezone, ask the recipient to use the Timezone drop-down menu under the General tab in drive.google.com/settings.
