Sign in to Google Cloud Connect and Google University

Google Cloud Connect (GCC) is the official community for Google Cloud System Administrators and Partners. It’s a one-stop hub for the latest news and resources, including launch announcements, product updates, use cases, technical documentation, and more.

Google University (GU) is the destination for Partners around the world to learn how to effectively market, sell, order, deploy and support Enterprise products. The heart of Google University is role-specific learning plans that target the specific skills needed by every Partner to be successful. Each learning plan consists of training content and assessments and includes instructor-led training, self-paced learning, or a mix of both.

Before you get started

Important:

  • Sign in to GCC/GU with the Google account associated with your company email address (for example, you@yourcompany.com). If you sign in with your personal Gmail account, you will not have access to partner or organization specific content. For step-by-step instructions, see Sign in to Google Cloud Connect below.

  • If you don’t have a Google account that’s associated with your company email address, you’ll need to create one before you sign in to GCC/GU. For instructions, see Create a Google account associated with your company email address.

Sign in to Google Cloud Connect

  1. Go to Google Cloud Connect, and click Sign in.
  2. Enter the username and password for the Google account that’s associated with your company email address (for example, you@yourcompany.com).
  3. If you don’t have a Google account that’s associated with your company email address, you'll need to create one before signing in to GCC. For instructions, see Create a Google account associated with your company email address.
  4. If you're signing in for the first time, you may be asked to authorize access and complete your profile. Click Allow to allow GCC to access your email address and basic information.
  5. Specify your user preferences so that when you sign in to GCC, you’ll see content related to the preferences you've selected.
  6. (Optional) Opt-in for Communications to get critical updates from our team.
  7. Check the Privacy Policy box and click Submit to proceed to your Google Cloud Connect Welcome page.

Create a Google account associated with your company email address

If you don’t have a Google Account associated with your company email address, you’ll need to create one before signing in to GCC.

  1. Go to the Google Account creation page. This page enables you to sign up for a Google account without creating a new Gmail account.
  2. Enter your first and last name.
  3. Under Choose your username, enter your corporate email address (for example, you@yourcompany.com).

Important: Do not create a new personal Gmail address. If the Choose your username field is pre-filled with @gmail.com, click I prefer to use my current email address, and then enter the email address that you use for your corporate account.

  4. Create a password for your Google account, enter your personal information, and click Next step.
  5. Review the Privacy and Terms page.
  6. Click Verify now to verify your email address. We’ll send an email to the address you entered to verify that you own it.
    1. You can find more information about account verification by visiting the following help article: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/63950?hl=en
    2. If you're having difficulties verifying your Google Account, please follow the troubleshooting steps listed in this online help article: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/27447
    3. Please be aware that verification email can come with some delay.

  9. Re-enter the password that you set up for your newly created Google account.
  10. Specify your user preferences so that when you sign in to GCC, you’ll see content related to the preferences you've selected.
  11. To access Google Cloud Connect, choose the account that’s associated with your company email address (for example, you@yourcompany.com). If this account is not displayed, click Add account, and enter your company email address and the password you set up for your Google account.

Note: Creating a Google Account doesn’t associate a Gmail mailbox with the account—think of it as an authentication-only account.

Troubleshooting Instructions for Partners

If you are an existing Google Cloud Partner and have issues accessing Google Cloud Connect and Google University, please make sure to follow the troubleshooting instructions below; most of the time, Partners can resolve the access issue themselves.

Possible reasons for access issues and how to fix them:

Log into Google Cloud Connect using Google Chrome Browser Incognito Window or private browsing if using different browsers with your corporate email. We recommend using Chrome if possible.

  1. It is possible that currently you are trying to login to Google Cloud Connect using your corporate email, but you are also logged into your browser using your gmail account/personal account. The reason you are having the issue is every time you are trying to log into Google Cloud Connect with your corporate email, the login credential is automatically detecting your gmail account/personal account from your browser.
  2. You need to use your Google Account with the corporate email; its domain must be associated with your profile in our system. Please make sure to use email with the corporate domains that have been mentioned in the Welcome email or have been confirmed that they are associated in our system.

Gmail or personal emails are not allowed to access Partner information in Google Cloud Connect and Google University.

  1. Please make sure your primary email in your Google Account is your corporate email and not a gmail address.
  2. This can be verified at https://myaccount.google.com/email
  3. If your primary email is a Gmail or any other personal email, you will have to remove your corporate email from the Alternate/Other email in your gmail account.
  4. Please follow the steps below:
    1. Here are instructions on how to remove an alternate/other email address: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/76143?hl=en&ref_topic=2382751
    2. Recreate and verify a Google Account using your corporate email at https://accounts.google.com/SignUpWithoutGmail
    3. Once you have recreated your Google Account using your corporate email address, please try accessing Google Cloud Connect one more time in Chrome Browser Incognito Window.

Resolve a 1004 error

If you encounter an Error: 1004 message while trying to sign in to Google Cloud Connect, the Google Account you're trying to sign in with is missing your first and/or last name. This prevents our system from authenticating properly. For instructions on resolving this issue, see How to resolve 'Error: 1004'.
