Enable or disable Hangouts On Air

Hangouts On Air let you broadcast your hangout, making them a great option for large presentations, demonstrations, or lectures. After the hangout and live broadcast, you can edit the recording of the meeting and share it on YouTube.

You can choose whether users have the option to start Hangouts On Air.

Enable or disable Hangouts On Air

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console dashboard, go to Appsand thenAdditional Google Servicesand thenYouTube.
  3. Click Advanced settings.

  4. In the Organizations section, select the organization for which you want to set the Hangouts On Air option.

    If you don't see an Org Settings or Organizations section, you probably have only one organization in your domain and can therefore skip this step.

    Select the top-level organization to enforce the same settings for your entire organization. You can also specify different settings for each organizational unit. If you have a lot of organizations, click the + button to expand your options.

  5. In the Hangout options section, select or deselect Allow Hangouts On Air.
